The Traffic Light Metaphor

The intention of this analysis is to deconstruct information. In this case, I am presenting the traffic light—which directly impacts the synchronization of movement—metaphorically, using a series of objects that are clearly defined by their colors: green, yellow, and red.

In a first reading, we assume these objects are people. We see them and understand them as human beings; we perceive their ergonomics and observe movement. But what is truly being represented in this composition? Time? Decontextualization?

The only clear element in this image is that a transition is perceived, which in turn is understood as movement. And yet, this is a static image.
